What is the thought on these. I am young with a fairly steady hand and my budget will allow for these from binoculars.com.
Will these binos get me into the field with decent images?
I was also looking at the nikon 10x50 action series. what would be the better of these for a beginner.

Take a look here...

There are the reviews of the binos you are pondering for.

I can't speak to the 12x60's, but I do own the 15x70 Skymaster, in addition to the Nikon Action Extreme 10x50. They each serve different purposes, but I can highly recommend both.

Alessandro,
I must say that that list was exactly what I was looking for!!!
If I could haev found it earlier I wouldn't have btohered to ask my (now) seemingly silly question.
Thanks again. I think that after reading the reviews I will be giong with the Celestrons.
Wish me luck.

Hey tke.hijacker I've had both the Celestron 12x60 Skymasters and also the Nikon Action 10x and 12x50's.
Both are good beginner binoculars and both have strengths and weaknesses.
The 12x60 Skymasters have quite a bit of field curvature but the eye relief was longer then in the 12x50 Nikons.
The 12x50 Nikons has a much sharper FOV in the center but the outer FOV is really bad and stars turn into streaks.
If I had a choice between the two, I would have to say the Nikons because the central FOV was much sharper...but if you have to use glasses, then the 12x60 skymasters would be ok to use until you get something better.

The view in my Celestron Skymaster 12x60 is fine, but the weight to me is heavy for handholding. That, combined with the magnification, gives a shakey view. It's not fully multicoated, so there's considerable glare and some ghosting on bright objects.
Just in case, did you compare Garrett Optical and Oberwerk models?

Thanks Marcus, yes I will be using my glasses 90% of the time with them I believe. that was taken into consideration with the eye relief measurements. I have been doing my homework for the last week or so trying to come up with the best scope for my limited budget that will give me decent performance (at this beginer stage).
Ed I would love to go with the GO and in the future will be looking to those for the reasons you have suggested here, unfortunately I really do have to stay below 70 and the Celestrons were able to provide that for me.
Trust me when I say I have been doing my homework and when budgeting these in I definitely considered going with more quality glasses but could not find a way to do so. So I will begin my quest for the stars with the Celestrons.
Thanks again to everyone who has helped thus far in my journey.
This will be one of the first places I will come to with any questions and success stories for years to come I am sure.

Don't worry about the quality of the binos that you are going to get. Just grab it, go out and gaze the night sky. You won't be disapponted!
