SPC900NC + Neximage reducer = will it work?
      #2677499 - 10/03/08 02:14 AM

I have only recently tried autoguiding using my SPC900NC + Walmart special (70mm x 600mm fl). The last time out I had trouble picking up a guidestar within the limits of my guiderings. Ran across a reducer for the NexImage and was wondering if it would work on the SPC900NC to give me a wider FOV for guiding.

From what I gather, the reducer replaces the barrel on the NexImage. I cant really do that with the 900NC because the attachment point on the webcam is too small, but was thinking it may actually screw into the threads in the 900NC adapter. I'm like 99% sure that the distance between the CCD would be different in this configuration. I think it would change the focus point (will it focus?) and the reduction amount should be different (but not sure how much).

For around $20 I am thinking of giving it a shot....what do you all think? Will it work?

Could you return it? If you think it would work I would bet $20.
