Our Astro Event Group ( AEG ) of Ostend, a coastal town in Belgium, is organising a 3-day Astronomy event on 27-28 February and 01st March 2009, the last days of the half term or Carnaval holidays. In fact it will be the largest event for the BeNeLux ( Belgium-Netherlands-Luxemburg ) and a website has been created: English translation of the webpages follows...

The IYA 2009 was officially opened by Federal Science Minister Sabine Laruelle at the Brussels Planetarium on Friday 16th January 2009. Belgium's weather forecaster Frank Deboosere also demonstrated the US $ 10.00 scope which will be made available to the public from March 2009 onwards... www.planetarium.be
