I have several wide-field eyepieces with 1.25" barrels that will not seat completely because the eyepiece "black body" strikes the edge of the OTA right in front of the EP holder. I thought I could find the solution by searching for a short extension tube, but had no luck. Can anyone that has encountered and solved this problem give me some advice? Maybe something other than extension tubed to search for? TIA!!

If this is a problem, find an old Barlow, unscrew the optical element from the end, and use the remainder as your extension tube.

If I understand your problem correctly, you could cut the ring off an eyepiece cap and slip it over the tube up to the black body. The EP will then sit up a little higher.
Hope this helps.

If you don't want to buy a barlow to butcher it, you can get a Lumicon barrel extender, as well.

You are right Kolenka...I rephrased a google search about a week ago and it gave me Lumicon. I order the extender + a 1.25" to 2" eyepiece adapter. It is due to arrive today or tomorrow, with the rain. But at least I should be set to go now....

You did well ordering the lumicon. I am using now a 24mm Hyperion in my ETX-125PE using the Lumicon short extender. It works fine.
