No answer on price. It wasn't clarified whether it was going to be a different model. I'm hoping it's just an upgrade to the existing Voyager for the same price. But that's probably wishful thinking.
I did see a black Voyager paired with the new wooden tripod. If they decide on a different model, black would be a nice way to distinguish it.

Personally I'd like to see the existing Voyager stay exactly as it is, a simple head on a lighter weight tripod at a fair price. Then have a V2 with heavier carrying capability, a steel tripod (like the CG-5), and alt az circles built in.
Both version should have options for ... - a post/pier extension (aluminum) - an eyepiece tray - handle - soft carrying bag - brackets and dovetails for other items like binoculars (maybe work with UA?) - ability to buy the head(s) only - and keep the $50 off when purchased with a scope program (maybe $75 for the V2?)
Then how about a V3 that adds digital setting circles ... and a V4 that moves up to a Celestron SE like configuration to add motors and full goto? Think of it as an SE mount with a slightly longer and angled arm.

I forgot. The encoders are coming. It will work with Argo Navis. They were unsure if it will work with SkyCommander.
I'd like to see a soft carrying bag. My solution isn't optimal. I bought a neoprene tripod strap from Pelican. I wrap bubble wrap around the head. It's easy to carry, slung under your shoulder.
A wooden surveyor's tripod will be more stable than a steel tripod like the CG-5.
You can buy an L bracket dovetail for binoculars from Orion.
There are no plans for a handle. The exact quote was "We'll let Manny make some money."

I took home one of the Voyagers with the wooden tripod. Haven't taken any pictures of it yet, but will be trying it out at work tonight during diner break. It will have an AT80edt mounted on it. Will report back on the combo about 10PM or so.

Will the encoders be upgradeable to existing Voyager mounts? I recently received my mount and I already have an Argo Navis for use with my dob. If so, sweet!

I didn't get an ETA for any products other than they were coming soon.

Here's my new Voyager from NEAF with the little Vixen on it. The mount is a perfect match for this scope. My GP accessory tray fits it perfect though it is not in the pic. Jason

Does anyone know whether this head will fit on my Bogen 475 tripod? I prefer the elavator center pole available w/the 475 tripod that I use for my Saturn IIIs (which take a lot of room) (G). Thanks.

The base of the Voyager mount is as shown. If your tripod has the standard 3/8” BSW screw thread, it will not fit.

You need to custom make an adapter like what I do for fitting the Voyager mount to my Gitzo 1415 tripod.
