It would be a lot more comfortable waiting if I actually knew how long I had to wait. I placed my order for a 60mm DS with 1200 blocking filter on the last week of April. Next week I will have been waiting 7 months. I'm not going to bail out, as I do want the telescope, so am here for the duration. It would be a lot easier to wait, however, if I knew how long I had to wait. Lunt will give you no information and my dealer knows less about this than do I. So the only alternative to get any insight on the wait is to ask you people. For those of you in the US who already got your Lunts...how long did you wait?

Did you order from a dealer or Lunt? I ordered direct from Lunt at the end of May and every time I have called they told me the ETA.
Originally the estimate given was November, but in August they said end of December. I called a week ago and they are still firm about end of December.

I ordered from a vendor at the end of March 2008, and just recently got a call asking if I was still interested. I said "yes" and was told it would be just a bit longer. Just that. How much longer is anyone's guess.

Did you order from a dealer or Lunt? ============================================================ I placed my order with a dealer. I am only one of nearly 100 people who ordered Lunts from this dealer, so I don't want to bother this guy too much, as I'm sure the other 99 people are turning on the pressure. The last time I spoke to him was 2 months ago, at which time he expressed his confidence that I would have my Lunt before the holidays. Hope the holiday he had in mind was Thanksgiving!

I ordered my 60/50-DS directly from Lunt in mid-January; took delivery mid-July. But I don't know how your position on your dealer's sub-list corresponds to Lunt's current production levels and their overall commitments to multiple dealers...
It WILL be worth the wait.

Well, I know that Tim at Camera Bug in Atlanta has a beautiful brand new single Etalon LUNT 60/BF600 just sitting in the store for the last 2 days waiting to sell. Buy it and wait for the second etalon to arrive instead of having nothing?
Tell him I sent you..

Well, based on the information from you people who responded, and thanks for responding, the magic number appears to be somewhere between 7 and 9 months. Add at least another month (because I'm unlucky) which gives me another 3 month or so wait. So I may see my Lunt before the first day of Spring.

Congratulations, Gerard!
(And don't worry, the Sun WILL shine on you again....and we'll expect a first light report!)
I'm sure that Lunt is doing the best they can to keep multiple dealers fairly supplied with their products. Your patience will be worth it, I'm sure.
Cheers,
Jim

Lunt had better get moving...I cancelled my order and have spent the money on other equipment.
I am not the only customer they have lost...several others in the club have cancelled their orders also.
And I will not be reordering until they are shipping on a KNOWN and FIRM basis.
