Nikki said she'll bring her scooter back for Uncle Alan to use again. Battery charged and ready to go!

Alan, Nikki said we'll add a couple bottle rockets to it for you.
And Steph, are the bells so Alan will know where you are and not run you over?

This year's NEAF will be the end of an era and the beginning of a new age....
This year marks the last year that NEAF will not have a strong meteorite presence.
I saw photos of last year's meteorite offerings, and I plan to up the ante in 2010 and subsequent years. My wife and I will be there in 2010 (right after the 2010 Tucson Gem and Mineral show), and I promise to have a flashy booth, eye catching props and live demonstrations of impact mechanics and crater formation using scale models. No kidding. If Alan will have me.
So enjoy the last NEAF that will be light on meteorites.
See you folks on the live webcast!
Best regards and clear skies,
MikeG

My stepdaughter is pregnant with my our first grandchild and my wife is excited about it. We are in the middle of moving from Louisiana to Tampa, to be a part of the baby's life. We are planning to move around the end of Feb and the baby is due in April or May. So it's just bad timing for us this year.
The good news is, I'll get to hone my presentation skills at some smaller gem and mineral clubs and shows in the local central Florida area before taking the show on the road to NEAF.
Best regards and clear skies,
MikeG

I do like the bottle rocket idea. We could look into JATO, but something tells me Alan won't need that at all...

Hi Mike,
That's great news! Both about the coming grandchild and your NEAF plans. Looking forward to finally meeting you in person.
There were a couple of boothes that had meteorites for sale last year. Those venders had more of a general mineral/geology slant with meteorites as only one of many differant items for sale. I don't remember anyone selling only meteorites.

Hi Peter,
My wife has always wanted to visit New York City, just to sight-see and be typical tourists. So I figure we can combine the two with a "tour" through the NorthEast. We can hit NEAF, NYC, and maybe Stellafane on our way back home.
You'll know it's me when you see the life-size color standee of an astronaut promoting Moon Rocks.
I look forward to finally getting to meet a bunch of people that I feel like I know already!
Regards and clear skies,
MikeG
