Jeremy Perez December 1, 2004 U.S. Naval Observatory - Flagstaff, Arizona Canon EOS 300D, f/3.5, ISO 200, 30 sec.
After an incredible evening observing in the lower parking lot at the USNO, I drove out and passed the main observatory dome as it was bathed in the cool rising moonlight. It was incredibly serene and beautiful. So I grabbed a parting shot before heading home.
Careful selections were made to distinguish the sky from the foreground, then curves, dodge & burn, and channel blending were used to balance color, and even out exposure between foreground and sky, to better convey the naked eye view. Unsharp mask used.
