Welcome to the Cloudy Nights Reader’s Gallery Submission Forum. Each month, we ask Cloudy Nights members to submit their best DSO photos in this thread.
For your photo entries, please provide a description that includes: Your First and Last Name; Date of photo (can include the time); Description (title) of the image; Relevant photo information (exposure length and equipment used).
This is important! If you don't supply ALL information, we won't be able to use your photograph!!!!
Please note: due to copyright issues, all photos MUST be original (If they aren't then you will be banned from this section of the forum!).
To facilitate the judging we respectfully ask that you not enter comments in the photo thread. You will find a commentary thread for the DSO photo entries. Thanks and good luck!

Equipment: SBIG ST-8XE and CFW-8a through a Takahashi FS102 on a Takahashi EM200 mount.
Nebula exposure information: L: 10 x 1 minute binned 1x1 RGB: 5 x 1 minute each binned 2x2
Trapezium region exposure information: L: 10 x 10 seconds binned 1x1 RGB: 5 x 10 seconds each binned 2x2
Images captured with CCDSoft. RGB combine in AIP4WIN. LRGB combine, layers and color processing in Photoshop. A mild application of SGBNR with PixInsight to smooth out noise was applied to the final image. Image reduced for the web.

M81 & M82 Nick King, Harrow UK 13th January 2005 50 minutes of L in 5 minute unbinned subs, and 6 minutes each of R, G and B in 2 minute subs binned 2x2 (clouds arriving rapidly) Taken with an SXV-H9 through a TV76 with a TV 0.8 reducer and Astronomik Type II LRGB filters. Guided with GuideDog, an SC3 ToUcam Pro and a Megrez 80SD.
