You made the call.......I made the change new
      #2888059 - 01/25/09 10:02 PM Attachment (36 downloads)

Thanks first to everybody who gave me input on my HaRGB image of M42. I took what everybody said and gave it a whirl. I want to thank Joe G. and Hunter W. for the help, tips and suggestions! I think I'm finally happy with this one. I also got to learn a lot about layer masking, feathering and compositing with this image.

Image details are:

Ha Data - 26 X 600 secs @ ISO 1600 18 degrees to start finished at 14 degrees F
RGB Data - 30 X 600 secs @ ISO 800 23 degrees to start finished at 16 degrees F

Clear Filter 40D w Astronomiks 12nm Ha front clip
Atlas running EQMOD - CDC
Borg 76ED/SSAG
Flats - Darks and Bias applied

WOW! Thanks for all the kind words everybody. This was a lot of work but was probably the most "Fun" I have had processing an image yet. As I said I learned a lot. Sorry for the delay in thanking everybody. It's been crazy at work lately...
