I haven't seen any hands on reports yet Carmine. A lot of us are waiting on them though.

Thank you. it seems a good product but it is better that someone with professional capacities has tested it.
Best regards.

Yeah then someone will have to come out with a permanent pier plate adapter! And yes, according to the website lists the item as available and ships in 15 days.

I've requested (but have not yet received) confirmation as to whether the electronics pier is the same diameter as the CGE. If it is, then a new pier adaptor wouldn't have to be developed. Even so, I'm not aware of any source for the CGE pier plate that doesn't involve several weeks lead time. Any early tests would have to be from either tripod users or those with a CGE pier adaptor already available.

I bought my CGE pier plate from Dan and at the time the CGE plate was in stock. Can't speak for today but back then it was shipped within a couple days of the order.
It looks promising for the diameter to be the same.

Judgeing that the CN16 works with the CGE and CGE-Pro and there is no addition of a CGE-Pro tripod, it could be deduced that they are indeed the same diameter. At least for assumptive speculation.

I dunno. I had a CN16 on my CGE and it strapped to a tripod leg; it didn't care what the pier diameter was. The minimum and maximum heights of the CGE and CGE Pro tripods are listed as being different, so they may not be the same tripod.

If the mount is going to be pier mounted what I did was take the tripod hub off the tripod. There were three casting marks 120 degrees apart. I drilled and tapped these for some 5/16 bolts. I also used the ceneter bolt that the tripod spreader bolted to. I never had a stability issue. I can't see why the same could not be done with the Pro.

Well, my C14 bet is relying on this being a decent mount. I've toyed with the C14 + CGE combo for the last couple of years but concerns about undermounting put me off. The CGE Pro could be just the ticket. *fingers crossed*

The "word" from Celestron via email to their support department. The CGE and the CGE-Pro DO NOT share the same electronics pier as the CGE-Pro is a heavier duty version of the CGE.

While the pier itself is certainly "different" the question remains ... is the mounting point at the base of electronics pier the same diameter and are the bolt holes in the same place?
