Ascom defaults? new
      #2924028 - 02/12/09 05:12 PM

I'm about to start using Ascom plus David Ek's digital setting circles on my scope, with either CDC or HNSKY as my laptop program. Everything checks out, interfaces well with my laptop, I just need to now hook it all up on my scope on the weekend.

When I fire it up, the first Ascom dialog is the 'Telescope Chooser' dialog. The dialog always shows 'Simulator' as the default.

Is there any way I can change the default to 'David Eks DSC Interface' and then bypass this step altogether? Maybe a config. or .ini file somewhere that can be edited?

It's a minor irritation that would be nice to be rid of!

Thanks
Chris

Hi Chrispy,

If you have completed the telescope select and then the configurations and saved your settings from, say, CDC then when you try to connect to your telescope, the Dave Elks settings should come up as default. You will not need to reset to the telescope select settings each time. I am assuming that after initializing your scope and using the Dave Elk settings that you can connect to your scope with CDC.

Thanks Edward,
I'll check that out. Must confess I have been firing up HNSKY and then selecting the Ascom option from the drop down menu. I'll save the settings and give it another try, when I get home from work tonight. This working for a living is a curse!
Regards
Chris
