      #2940415 - 02/20/09 11:31 PM

Here it is February 20th and I haven't seen a post about the CGE Pro for weeks.

Anyone heard any rumblings?

Michael:

Thank you. While I can't afford to be one of the first, I will be looking at reports and should be good to go by late spring.

Steve,

shopping mount for 8 incher?
Man..., CGE Pro weights 154lb? Only one 22lb counter weight comes with.

You need a few more CWs and much higher pillar

Tammy

Hi Tammy:

Yes I am getting ready. Counter weights are cheap.

Seven Feet of 6" 6061 T6 1/4" wall aluminum tubing that got here yesterday, not so cheap, but it is a great start on that Pillar.

Where did you get that 6061 T6 tube at? I'm looking to make a pier for my Meade RG mount.

Chas

Chas:

Try these folks, I was very pleased with the price and the shipping was VERY fast. I recommend them very highly. Let me know what you think.

Tubing shipped to your door

I checked out the site, seems kinda hard to figure out what size i need. I think the ID of my Meade RG pier is 6" but i will have to check. Seems they sell alot of very thick wall tubing.

A great source if you don't need less than 1/8" wall. I do understand your when I ordered mine there was a real question if it would fit inside (telescope) the adapter on the bottom of my DS-16. A past owner has modified my mount and it is now a female collar that had to fit around the pier.

It fits beautifuly. I lucked out. .002 to spare.

I'm sure my Meade RG mount has the same diameter head cap as your DS-16 since they are the same castings. I would hate to order the wrong size.

Chas:

Yours "should" drop right into a 6 1/2" OD 1/4" wall. You can buy it in Steel or Aluminum I believe.

Have you got access to a caliper? Harbor freight has them cheap and it might be a good idea to measure it first. A cheap one is less than $10.00. Digital can run around $20.00.
