Hello

We are doing a special web cast of comet Lulin, from the Bareket observatory in Israel.
http://bareket-astro.com/en.htm
As a part of our IYA2009 outreach activities.

The web cast will begin TODAY (weather permitting) Wednesday 25th of February, from 19:00 UTC to dawn 02:30 UTC.
It will be available during the U.S day time !

The telescope will upload an image to the web site (see link below) in every 30 seconds.

Further details about the special web cast available at the following links :

Unfortunately I read this too late and missed it. Are you going to do this again?

We don't have any plan to broadcat Lulin in the near future.

Overall we had entries from all over the world.
We got several replies from global educators, who indicated that the
Lulin web cast was viewed & projected in schools at their countries,
with great success.

We took almost 600 images of the comet, in a time frame of about 8 hours.
During that time we catch at least 1 major outburst, located at the
lower right side of the comet (see second #30 at the movie below).

You can see the archive movie from the session in the following link :
http://www.bareket-astro.com/live/comet/lulin2009.html

Feel free to use it if you wish.

Best regards,
Ido.
