After a horrible period of cloudy weather, yesterdag I could finally observe the comet and make a quick sketch. It was the second opportunity for me to view it, the first time the sky was a bit foggy. This night however was pretty transparant en Lulin gave a wonderful show in my backyard despite the presence of a small Moon. It was nice to see the long hazy tail and the fast movement. It made my day! Or month for that matter...

Roel,
An excellent observation of Comet Lulin. You have captured this "ghostly interloper" very nicely with it's diffuse spherical coma and fan (ion) tail. Thank you for sharing it with us all.

Very realistic drawing, you must have similar skies to mine because that looks even more like what I saw compared to my own drawing!
What materials were you using? Did you invert the sketch?

@Agnotio: I sketched on normal white paper. For the Comet I used a common HB pencil ans for the star a black fine-liner. I later photographed and inverted the image using Photoshop.
I like photographing better than scanning, because the soft, faint, fuzzy parts appear better than via my scanner.
