6" Achro shipped today. new
      #2829 - 06/03/03 06:45 PM Attachment (92 downloads)

My salesman at Analytical Scientific said it would be on the BBT at 1700. He also said I could recieve it by Friday, but I'm not holding my breath. Three day en-route time from San Antonio to Southern Illinois? Yeah uh-huh.

With my luck it will be Monday at the earliest, but at least it's coming.

Your going to like that big refractor a-lot. If you realy want killer planetary views look at getting a binoviewer for it some day. I have two 6" refractors, one is an APO, and the other is an Archromat.

Hi, Don.

I don't EVER want to look through a 6" apochromat; some things I just can't afford to fall in love with. My main scopes are SCT's but there's something special about starfields in a decent refractor. I wouldn't have the 4" APO but it showed up one day as a swap for a scope I wasn't using and seduced me. The 5" neo-achromat does very well but it's no APO.

I still have a 6" achromat as well (thanks, Allister!) and it gives great views too. If that new AR-6 looks and works as well as mine did it will give you some wonderful evenings.

It left Houston at 0630 enroute to Little Rock. Should be there by 1900 tonight.

It's getting closer.

Left Little Rock at 0216 en-route to Earth City Mo.

I guess I will be getting it tomorrow after all. UPS has improved that's for sure.

Out the Door for delivery at 0530. I guess it will be waiting for me when I get home from work tonight.

I know what I'll be doing in the basement all night tonight.
