AOK altaz mount distributors?

I am interested in a AOK-Swiss altaz mount, similar to the EZTouch. Does anyone know of a distributor in the uS or do I have to order direct from AOK?

AFAIK, there are no US distributors. I've orders parts directing from AYO with no problem. Very helpful people.

Neat. Did you get the Ayo standard? It is my understanding that the Ayo mount, from AOK, is a more robust design than the similar EZTouch.

Hi Rob,
Yeh,the AYO standard. The standard is the same as the original WO EZ Touch. I believe WO used to buy their original ones from AOK until they moved manufacture to Taiwan and reverse engineered them.

Hmm .. I once owned an earlier model EZTouch, the first year WO introduced them. It was very smooth but, I can't imagine using it with a load like the TEC-140. I was hoping that the AOK Ayo was a step up in stability/beefiness.

Well the TEC-140 is certainly at the limit for the standard AYO. With a counter weight it might be just OK.
There are in fact two bigger models for heavier loads.
The AYOnd and the AYOdigi are certainly up to the job.

Furthermore they just introduced the AYOmaster for the really big guns. D&G anyone?

Maybe if Markus wants to become a dealer for thses mounts and bring them to NEAF this year that would be great. I too am looking for a good Alt/Az mount but the Orion one I had was way to problematic and I want a double header for two scopes. I wish AYO would open a stateside dealer, they have some real nice stuff.

Note that Markus already produces his own heavy duty alt/az mount known as the MaxMount (see his APM webpage) which he displayed at NEAF last year. Frankly, it wasn't setup well so it was difficult to get a good sense of how well it functions. It is designed to handle larger scopes.
