How to mount 3 scopes together?
      #2987041 - 03/16/09 01:27 PM

Hi guys,

I was wondering what available accessory would be required to mount 3 scopes side by side? I saw Triad bar but its too expensive (you need to buy $160 x 3 for saddles alone).

If you haven't mounted them side by side, how is your configuration for 3 scopes?

I have the following equipment:

1. Atlas EQ- GOTO
2. Takahashi FS-60 OTA
3. Celestron C6 OTA
4. Orion 80mm F11 OTA

Oh and if you post pics of your setup, that would be awesome!

Thanks

Use a vixen side by side setup for the C6 and 80mm scope. Use split rings on a vixen dovetail bar for the 80mm and then bolt a set of smaller 3 point rings directly to the top of the split rings for the Tak.

Personally I'd only bother with the C6 and the Tak, I'm not sure of the value of adding the 80mm to that combo.

Good morning,

I used a Dual Scope Mounting Plate from Scopestuff http://www.scopestuff.com/ss_dmp6.htm

It's 16" wide and I have an ED80, Meade AR-6 and Orion 100mm f/6 side by side by side. Works for me!

Regards, Marc
