Hi guys
I have an Atlas EQ_G. I want to mount the following together:
Takahashi FS-60CB Celestron C6
Opt advised that I should get:
ADM Side by Side Mounting system ($169) Losmandy V-Series Male to Male Dovetail Plate ($70) Losmandy V-Series 108mm Dovetail Rings ($105)
Total $344
Is there any other configuration you can think of that could possibly save some $$?
Thanks

What about mounting the Taka in piggyback on the C6?
Celestron Piggy Back Mount and a Taka tube ring for photo tripod

Alternativelly a longitudinal bar (vixen type dovetail) instead of the Celestron Piggy Back Mount

The SbS config is nice because it gives you lots of flexibility.
The Losmandy and ADM versions are some of the best stuff around. You may be able save a little money and weight by using the ADM VDUP-100 rings ($99) and that includes the vixen bar, you'll just need to check and see if the spacing between the rings works for that Tak.
I like Patricio's idea about using the Tak tube ring on top of the Celestron Piggy back mount (and despite the lack of a C6 in the description it does indeed fit on a C6 ... I have one). The only downside to this config is that it will have very limited adjustment capabilities (but not usually a big problem when you have that nice wide fov). Unfortunately the C6 doesn't have the appropriate mounting points on the front corrector cell so a longer bar is not going to work.
Another option that might work well for that little Tak is AT 90mm rings

This may be the best option from both a cost and an ease-of-use standpoint, especially for visual-only use. The Tak 60 is only a little larger than a standard 7X50 finder, and the AT finder ring setup should be more than stiff enough to support the Tak. You'll also save some weight over the setup OPT suggested.
If you're considering imaging (using the Tak as a GS), there are some advantages to a side-by-side system - but maybe not enough to justify the additional cost & weight.
Just my ...

Other posibility is a micrometric alt-az mount like the Baader Witty (less than 60€)

Good suggestions, thanks.
I would be using this setup for imaging. Using C6 as GS and Tak for imaging.

Chitown:
What camera will you be using? If a DSLR or one of the large SBIG CCDs, I don't know that I'd trust the 90mm finder ring setup to handle the extra weight without causing problems.

We've got this, works well for us.
Link
We have a side by side setup for both of our mounts (eq6 and heq5), and love it. I went with the one from kens rings because it keeps us with vixen dovetails all around (same as the mounts). All of our telescopes have the same dovetail, and we can mix and match as we see fit.
Check out the whole list of options
