ioptron mount question

anyone know if these mounts can be used for tracking doing astrophotography. looking at the details at opt website, it shows that one of them can be put in a eq, position. thanks, don

There is one model of the Cube that is equipped with an EQ wedge. Jeanette in Australia has done some outstanding imaging with hers. See the iOptron User's Group on Yahoo for details.

Also, the Mini Tower can be used for short exposures. John Bozeman has posted some incredible images on the our BLOG. He uses a Mini Tower and a C8 Hyperstar.

If I remember correctly, Jeanette used Cube-ER80, the basic model without wedge and GPS, taking those pictures.

Got the article in front of me.Cube was "the basic" and "5000 object go-to dats". Sounds like the "E" to me.

Jim:

I think you are correct. The database is really nothing important when shooting AP. It's what the person does with the imagin equipment and how well that equipment performs that really counts.
