What's causing this tracking issue? new

Take a look:

I'm using PHD through a DSI pro on an LXD75. Most of my subs are just fine, about 25% of them have what appears to be a bump.

Anyone can tell me what exactly this is?

Was it windy when you were imaging or is it possible that the scope/mount was bumped or jiggled?

David

Maybe if the setup wasn't on firm solid ground/concrete
and walking close by might produce this??

I've seen this when the AG's guide star shares the field with another fairly bright star - the AG can alternately lock onto either one, causing similar results. Perhaps try for a guide star in a less populated area of the sky.

I wouldn't rule out a bump, snagged cable, or wind, either...

Thanks for the ideas guys, I'm actually thinking that the problem may have been what Joe said.

Have you ever tried Metaguide just to see if
it's worth to change? ( also Free SW )
For me it's great and ever since I'm not chasing
seeing effects anymore.
