CG5 GT / SIRIUS TRIPOD QUESTION
      #3005484 - 03/26/09 10:26 AM

I have tripod legs from an Orion Sirius mount (the Sirius tripod legs are the same as the Celestron CG5 GT except that the legs are 1 3/4" not 2")that I would like to use with a mount that accepts a 3/8" bolt.

I was wondering if there is an adapter available to convert these tripod legs for the above use.

Or maybe somebody has fabricated such an adapter.

Any advice you have in this area would be appreciated.

Thanks

Gary

Only adapter I can think of for is Camera platform Adapter HAL Tripod plus a 1/4"-3/8" bushing.

Bushings/Convertors

The bolt on the sirius tripod is 12mm and it can be removed completely. 12mm is bigger than 3/8" so you can probably just put the 3/8" bolt right up through the hole without any modificaitons. You will just need to use a washer on the bottom.
