Set me straight on mounts
      #3007926 - 03/27/09 01:21 PM

So, browsing the different mounts that are available from various companies, many of them employ similar type names. Some may even be the same mount just renamed from another company. For example, Celestron has a CG4 and CG5. Skywatcher has a EQ5 Pro and an overseas EQ5, HEQ5 and then there are Orion names ot various similar mounts. Does anyone have a spreadsheet that shows similarities of these mounts? Antares also as a EQ5 that can either come with 1.5 inch or 2 inch steel tripod legs. This mount looks close to the EQ5 pro from skywatcher. It just gets awefully confusing. And then the same mount accross companies have different weight ratings, even though the mount may be identicle.
