Another buddy of mine just confirmed this. He ordered a 12" and they told him 2007.
Actually, here's what he said:
Quote:
I jumped on the order list for a 12"... but we'll see whether I stay on it. I figured it doesn't hurt to get in the list and wait... I have 2 years to make up my mind.
Now couple this with the fact that someone else is saying:
Quote:
A member of the RASCals list has ordered a 12", and been promised delivery in February 2005. It's likely that some sizes will be available earlier than others, as there will be a lot of retooling involved.
And it starts to get really confusing....
John, did you call Mike and ask what's up with the "expected" wait time on these??

hi,
If the design is implemented well it will be a better visual and imaging scope. We'll have to wait and see how well they do it.

Delivery in February for the 12" Summer for 16". Hopefully OTA's will be available by 3/4 quarter of 2005. I know they already have production models at Meade and will have some at the CES show in Vegas this weekend. I think a fairly bug free roll out version will take until March/April. I could be wrong, it might actually hit in February.

I'm gonna have to sit back and let someone else have the honor. I was an early adopter of too many new models in a row - it's fun but you lose a bundle if you don't keep them.

I hope so. If not, one may as well buy a Celestron.

This must have been the scope Meade used to take the photos on the outside of the DSI box. Now I just have to figure out what camera they used;-) Ralph

I'm impressed, though I don't know how the wifey will take it if I ordered one, not sure if I want to push it... Looks like this scope will be their new "flagship", y'all see the eyepiece they are includeing I think they are the first to include a quality eyepiece with their scope
