Anybody seen this before? LINK
Looks like maybe the CG5 type tripod for $132 free shipping.
I have a Celestron Omni CG4 tripod/mount with 1.75 inch legs. It seems very sturdy, I also have one of the older CG4 tripods/eq mount that came with my C102HD refractor. It is not nearly as sturdy as the newer tubular Omni mount. I was thinking maybe I could take the older CG4 eq head and put it on this 2 inch leg ioptron tripod. Seems like a deal to me, for such a heavy duty tripod, anybody using it?

Ioptron used to have it listed at thier website, probably closeout or discontinued. Looks very sturdy, should be compatible with the CG-4 if it uses a M10 bolt.

I have one here. It uses the 10mm center bolt. It will NOT fit the CG5! The hole in the tripod head is only 1-3/4". The base of the CG5 is larger. HOWEVER, it MAY fit the LXD-55/75. The tripod was designed for the SmartStar-PR EQ GEM and it appears to be the same as the LXD55/75. I do not have a CG4 so I cannot tell you if that will fit.

Just measured, the hole in the CG-4 is 2 3/8 inch. I could probably make an adapter of some kind, but not sure it would be worth the trouble.. Does anybody know if the CG-5 is 2 3/8 or is it bigger still?

Thanks, Steve. Shame, it was not 2-3/8"
Though it would make a nice tripod for a Giro 3 with 30mm hub and M10 threads.
Ken
Keep a lookout for a used CG-5 tripod with the 2" legs, they show up for sale used, once in a while, for about $100.

I'd give Gary Hand at Hands On Optics (www.handsonoptics.com) a call tomorrow, too. He had a wooden tripod for about $80 or so that IIRC would fit a CG mount. Reason I mention this is that wooden tripods damp vibration much better than metal, and I think it might serve your purposes better--if it will fit the mount.
Just a suggestion. Best of luck.
