Here are my sketches from 3/30.
I first tried an easy target, M81, M82, and NGC 3077. I barely fit all three in the FOV. This is the first time I saw 3077.

Here's Markarian's chain, there's 13 galaxies there, see if you can find them all!

TenthEnemy,
Wonderful sketches and images of the galaxies and globular clusters. I love the hint of detail you have given, teasing that there is more there. Very similar to what I see in my scopes. Nicely done. I wish the storms would stop where I am but then again it helps with the water issues come summer.

These are really good...and a lot of work for an observing period. You might consider revisiting ones you found really interesting and do them again in a concentrated way.
You globular is nice and they are fun to do at low magnification. They get really complex quickly as aperture goes up.

TenthEnemy,
Wow, now that is a plethora of great sketching. It was easy to find all 13 galaxies in the Markarian chain. Clear spring nights are the best when you can see galaxies and globulars as you have sketched them. Superior!

TE,
I think that you do a fine job with these sketches. I enjoy them very much. The fact that you do not draw these objects too bright, does contribute to the 'live' experience when looking at the drawings.

Thanks everyone for your comments. I was trying to get a more realistic look than some of my earlier sketches, I think I've accomplished that especially well with M82 and M3. I'm still having problems with accurately placing stars, but I don't think it hurts the sketch that much.
I did this many sketches in one night because the upcoming forecast shows nothing but clouds and the moon. That's not DSO weather...

Excellent observations of interesting galaxies and globular clusters. You have captured their appearances in the eyepiece very nicely. Thank you for sharing them with us all.

10E, Those are awesome. I had to wait until I could dim the lights enough to see them in good detail.
I especially like how detailed your M3 sketch is. I was thinking of trying for M13 next month when it gets higher in the sky (I still have to do my Leo Triplet this month...)
Thanks for sharing, they look very realistic.

Thanks, sorry about you having to dim the lights. I just make the sketches look right on my monitor, they might disappear if you have the brightness low. They're also filled with gradients and noise.
I'm also planning to sketch M13 soon. It's a spectacular object, especially at high power.

Highly realistic sketches, Tenth Enemy! You've really done a great job simulating the nebulosity of an eyepiece view of these galaxies. Looking forward to more from your talented eye and hand.
