Does Ioptron MiniTower use C-8 with the CG5 mount?

The Celestron C-8 offers two different dove tails. Does the MiniTower use the CG5 dove tail? Thank you. Best Regards, Jim

No. The Mini Tower uses the Vixen style dovetail. An excellent mounting kit is available from ADM Accessories. I have one on my C8 and it works perfectly on my Mini Towers.

They are NOW. The original CG5 dovetail was much different and has only recently been superceded by the more common Vixen style. I have several of the older styles sitting around and they do NOT fit within the newer mounts that use the more modern Vixen style. However, the newer Viexn style DOES mount up to the older CG5/Vixen saddle plates.

If it's new and not vintage, the CG5 dovetail bar will fit the Ioptron Mini Tower.

Regardless, Anthony at ADM can hook you up with the correct dovetail kit if you need it.
By the way, the Mini Tower is now able to accept the Losmandy dovetails. We just announced the new saddle plate at NEAF this weekend.

I just got a new 6" SCT OTA with a CG5 dovetail and it fits the MiniTower.
My MiniTower is new and FYI shipped with level adjustment knobs instead of screws. They seem to be a good update.
Does anyone have a solution to the position of the finder? With the OTA mounted on the MiniTower the finder is now in the 2 oclock position and unless I get a right angle finder it is very uncomfortable to use a straight finder scope.
