I took an eq mount that had been sitting around gathering dust and turned it into two very servicable alti azimuth mounts that can each easily handle 35 pound loads.

That's a cool setup. How does the one carrying the 10" rotate in azimuth? Did you have to make some sort of bearing for the top of the pier?
It's a nice option for being able to stand an observe, as opposed to sitting with a dob.

The azimuth bearing is stock....simply removed the azimuth lockdown knobs and azimuth adjustment worm.
Bearing surfaces are metal-metal....was going to put a piece of Telfon between but the surfaces are machined smooth enough and the weight is distributed fairly equally between the scope and the counterweight that it turns extremely smooth and the right amount of drag without modification.
Incidently, the motions are well balanced... that is the same effort is required to move both axis.
