Saturn - 8th April 2009
      #3036057 - 04/10/09 12:15 PM Attachment (74 downloads)

Another drawing of Saturn with the 4" refractor at x233.

I could not see the Northern belt this time or the Cassini division. Seeing was steady but there was a lot of high haze around.

As I drew this around 9:30pm Mimas was transiting the globe but I did not see it or it's shadow.

Beautiful globe and ring Saturn sketch. Visually, I also find the Cassini division tough to spot with the nearly edge on Saturn rings. Very nice post.

Excellent sketch Dweller! The subtle way you rendered the bands is wonderful.

An excellent observation of Saturn showing the South Equatorial Belt (SEB) nicely. The shadow of Mimas would be very difficult to observe even with a larger aperture. Thank you for sharing it with us all.

Dweller,

Nice sketch!!

And interesting to compare with the previous one. You're building up a fine collection of sketches, this way.
