Hi All,
Tele Vue just announced the latest Ethos 10mm $620.00 suggested price and on sale 10% off $558.00. Accepting pre orders and due to ship 4/18/09.

Available April 18, 2009, the 10mm Ethos delivers: 100° apparent field (50% larger in area than 82° Naglers), comfortable eye-relief, (accepts DIOPTRX eyesight astigmatism correctors), distortion correction, high contrast and on-axis sharpness for planetary viewing. It is the “do-it-all” eyepiece perfect for all scopes that can utilize this focal length. And, "filling the hole" between the 13mm and 8mm makes it the ideal centerpiece for a 17mm/10mm/6mm Ethos set.
An important benefit of the combination of large apparent field of view and shorter focal length is that for a given field in the sky, higher magnification results in a darker sky background. Fainter stars become visible and more detail is seen on all deep sky objects. Ethos provides another big magnification/contrast jump, yielding dramatic views simply not previously possible in any telescope. With the smaller exit pupil, eyesight limitations are also reduced.
In addition to matching all the key performance criteria of its 13mm sibling, its lighter weight and smaller diameter makes the 10mm more suitable for use with a binocular viewer.

Yes, but every scope comes with 25mm or 26mm next eyepiece you need is higher power...10mm is good option maybe there will be a surprise announcement at NEAF.
I would rather not have another 22mm we already have a great 22mm Nagler. How about a 23mm or something different?
Just my 2 cents.

For those like me who have the 8 and 13mm Ethos (Ethoi, Ethoses, Etheses?), the 10mm doesn't fill a gap. Now it would if I had the 13 and 6, but I don't, and since the 13 and 8 came out ahead of the 6, I suspect there are a lot of others in the same boat. Kind of an odd choice from that perspective.

I beg to differ. In my scope the 13E gives me 177x the 10E gives 230x and the 8E gives 288x. 111x was too big a jump, 230x fills that gap nicely.

It really depends on what scope focal length you're working with. I've got F7 and below - you apparently have an SCT or something with a long focal length, so I can see your point. Regardless, the Ethos line gives fantastic views, whatever the focal length, and I'm glad Televue came up with them. While not considered a planetary eyepiece, I was looking at Saturn with the 8mm Ethos in my TV102 last Sunday night, and it was as if the plantet was etched into the sky - almost three-dimensional and sharp and crisp as if you were there. I'm sure the 10mm will give the same effect.

Going from the 13E down to the 8E was too big a jump for me with my skies and my TV-102. I feel the 10E will be a much better step for me with that scope.
