This is my favorite time to observe the summer sky, before all the bugs realize it isn't winter anymore. First up is SN 2009dd, a supernova in Ursa Major. It's a pretty easy target in moderate/large scopes, so look for it if you haven't already. I'm in a Bortle 6 zone, when I did these sketches my NELM was around 5 at the zenith and 3.5 in Sagittarius.
