First off I own a Celestron C6S-GT OTA with a CG5-T as my first scope. It's about a year old. So, had a little scary experience this evening.I started off OK, did a two star align, and was slewing to Bode's Nebula and then it happened- A large "clunk" as the scope was moving was in declination and the motor sounded a little stressed. So naturally,I quickly powered it off!
I unlocked both clutches. RA moved freely, but DEC was frozen pointing somewhat westerly above zenith. I got it free by jiggling back and forth a little gently until it gave. I powered on, moved a little manually and it seemed OK. Did a two star align and I was good.
Just wondering of anyone may have any insight into what the sound was (worm gear?) and how worried I should be. I am still under warranty luckily if it comes to that.

Check to see if the clutch lever may have 'interacted' with the motor housing.
