ioptron GoToNova RA motor problem?
      #3054750 - 04/20/09 12:23 PM

hi all,
I just purchased the kit; I noticed that when slewing, the handbox's screen dims, almost blinks, only with the RA motor though. I also have the feeling that it turns slower than the DEC motor at max speed. This only occurs at 256x,512x or max speeds, the faster the more obvious.

It's not an overload problem since it does the same when taken off the mount. It is less obvious when using my powertank than the included DC adapter.
Any thoughts? does yours behave the same way?

thanks!
(sorry for my poor english)

It sounds as if you have the spur gears meshed too tightly. Set them with a piece of printer paper as a spacer. Also, LUBRICATE THEM with a small dab of Super Lube or some similiar synthetic grease. Axle grease is not acceptible.

I'd be a bit worried about the motor then. Contact your vendor. See what they have to say.
