Hi John, Please PM me and let me know how much you would like for the tripod, I'm interested. Clear Skies, BrianB

That little puck under the Mewlon250 looks like a real "weak link" in the chain.

Actually the Tak "hockey puck" is very solid, my deck is the weak link in the chain. I'm bolting the "portable" pier to my patio below. I'll also get a much better view of the South and Western skies (away from the city).

Chuck

Here's my Trapezium-modified iOptron MiniTower on a Berlebach tripod, eliminating the weak spot in the popular little iOptron mount- the tripod.
Mounted on it are an iOptron 152 Mak- and my homemade Carton-lensed 100mm f/13 refractor.

Hello Wes, Wow!
Talked about "armed and ready" - That's one "dangerous" looking set up, there
Which Berlebach tripod have you got under there?

I just replaced an LXD75 with an Atlas on my pier. The pier adapter was based on a design I found online, and it was made for me by a machinist at work as a (very generous) favor. The scopes are a Meade 8" SCT and an f/6 100mm refractor which is mostly used as a guidescope. A 3/4" aluminum plate holds 2 ADM Vixen-style saddles. Weight is about 36 lbs. which is a little close to the 40 lb. spec but this mount has ceramic bearings and may be underrated. I think I've got it balanced well (note the forward weight on the refractor). In any event I don't plan on adding anything else right now. So far the difference between it and the 75 is outstanding (the 75 is rated at 30 lbs. and I had it configured with about 27 lbs., so the margin is similar). The Cloudy Nights forums have been of great value to me in building this setup - I appreciate all of the comments from the community.

Not just the mount, but the whole imaging set-up. Man, is that LED on the SSAG bright, or what?

Here is my newly upgraded Atlas equatorial head on a Losmandy HD tripod...the "Atlosmandy" hybrid. This thing is rock solid and I have no worries about imaging with a C11 in this configuration. Thanks for looking! Clear Skies, BrianB

Here is my "Turco" Model II Crutch Tripod and Alt/Az Mount with my Orion 100mm f/6 on it. I completed the tripod and mount project back on 30 March and the whole project less the scope cost me right around $100.00 It is very sturdy, the wood part is made of solid cherry that has been screwed, glued and doweled and I figure it will easily hold 50#. My inspiration for this was from Ed Turco, a long time CN member and ATM'er.
