Telescope Reviews: Urgent Help Needed

Hi all,

I recently got an absolute bargain "Gazer Gem1" EQ mount with RA drive, complete and in great nick, 2nd hand. Everything was fine, until I plugged the handbox (says 12v on it) into my 12v power supply and switched it on. There was a pop noise and some smoke belched out of the controller.

I got the feeling this was not good.

Anyway, the motor itself seems fine but the controller is dead. I bought the setup to pass on to a friend of mine and I feel really bad that I burned out the drive controller, so I'm looking for a replacement hand-control box.

I think Gazer mounts are no longer made, so if anyone can point me in the direction of a possible supplier I'd be really grateful. The cable that goes from the control-box to the motor is a 5-pin DIN type - not the Skywatcher type phone connectors.
