Saturn - 25th April 2009 new
      #3070709 - 04/27/09 02:39 PM Attachment (68 downloads)

Here is Saturn again with a little more detail than before. Seeing was really good on the evening of the 25th.

Cassini division is getting easier to see, The shadow of the planet on the rings can now be seen to the right. The tips of the rings have a slight dark tinge. Still cannot make out much detail on the face though.

Mike,

I'm out tonight with the TSA, the 925 is all boxed up now - it would be good to compare views.

David,

A very nice observation of Saturn. The belts are delicate and you recorded the ends of the Cassini Division. Thank you for sharing it with us all.

Carlos

David,

I like your capture of the shadow and your image of the structure on Saturn itself resembles somewhat what I can remember seeing in March. Need to see the rings myself! Thanks for sharing, nicely done.

Mike,

I am very interested in your compare - single to bino view on planetary detail.

This is probably a silly question but did you buy Denk std or Denk II ????

The shadings of the planet's globe are very realistic rendered! Thank you for sharing.

David,

I finally received the denks and did a first light last night. compared mono with 6mm pentax ortho with bino using 15mm plossls giving identical x173.
the bands were better defined in the denks, and cassini popped in in good moments. i struggled to catch it in the pentax.
at x248 with a pair of 10.5 tv plossls saturn was surreal in the odd moment.
i doubt i will really use mono much, the comfort with the denks is terrific, no floaters at all!

regards
mike

David,

This is another excellent capture of Saturn. The planet shadow on the rings and visa versa are well done. Your drawing has good depth and you were able to see and include the Cassini division. You have captured it all.

Frank
