Autostar update - need help! new
      #3083260 - 05/03/09 06:15 PM

I have been reading meade's site and google for information on how to update this dang thing and I have failed over and over. I have the USB to serial thing all set up with the correct driver and have the autostar hooked up into it, and that into the scope. Everything is fine there...

I have the Meade ASU v4.88 program on vista premium. I open this up and try to select COM3 which the scope is hooked up to. I turn the scope on, hit connect on ASU, the autostar screen is just blank after it beeps. FAIL unable to connect. PLEASE HELP this is driving me up a tree

Attention cloudynights members... I officially win the Darwin Award of the year for using the wrong cord into my DB9 serial connector adapter. I'm such a moron. Mods please delete this entire thread to save my dignity lol

Ya it sounded like NO CONNECTION through the computer serial-USB cable--- just don't accidentally plug it into the HEX connection on the telescope power panel!!!! always plug in through the hand controller port.

Good Luck--
