I could only make out three craterlets in Plato, in more quiet moments. So I concentrated on the subtle differences in surface brightness. I too was looking at the moon last night and the details around Plato, Copernicus and Clavius. Although through high haze, it was some of the most rare atomospheric still air I have seen in many years. Seeing was a close 10/10! I should have been sketching! Instead I took several photos though the telescope eyepiece for possible future sketching reference.
