looks like this is the place to post this.

I am Shawn Hendrix with Palms Observatory Saipan here is a little bit about us.

Palms Resort Saipan brings Tropical Island vacationing and star watching together in a combination you will never forget. Sitting at East 145 North 15 this location is far away from the Sky Glow of the big cities of the mainland.

Enjoy Snorkeling on Managaha and uninhabited islet, a Sunset Cruise on the Jade Lady III Sail Boat, Shopping, or a multitude of other activities then retire to the hotel for Dark Skies and Warm Nights. Imagine a Messier Marathon at 76 Degrees and 80 Degree Ocean water 20 feet away.

For a True Dark Sky Experience join us on our Bonsai Cliff Expedition. Bonsai Cliff is on the back side of the Island away from all white light and about 1500 feet above sea level. Set up the telescopes and start gazing Millions of years into the past.

8 Telescopes to Choose From!

2 x Vixen ED115Son Sphinx SXD Mounts
3 x Vixen VMC260L on Atlux Mounts
2 x Vixen VMC330L on Gaiax Mounts (Amazing Optics and Light Gathering)
1 X Celestron 1400 Fastar

Also a great assortment of eye pieces but feel free to bring your favorites!

Jack was kind enough to accept our invitation to the resort and offer some of his expert feedback.
The reason you have such good seeing is temperature-related; the land, air
and sea temperatures are all within a few degrees of one another, meaning
that the airflow over the island is "laminar". This provides outstanding,
stable seeing, as the scintillation in the "seeing cells" is very minimal.

The view of the skies above the resort are wonderful for the casual
observing of guests using the outstanding equipment offered for their
enjoyment. Planetary and star images in this seeing environment are
exceptional. The nearby dark-sky sites at the Grotto or Bird Island should
satisfy the most ardent amateur astronomer. And did I mention....you can
observe in your shirtsleeves all night long? No need for warm weather
gear, and no need for bug repellents!

Clear skies and best regards,
Jack Newton

I am trying to contact the admins as I would like to give away a stay at the hotel to a lucky CN member or 2.

It is truly and amazing place. One thing I can say for sure is that we are giving away a free 1 week stay at RTMC.
