Super Polaris Dovetail for C8 and Vixen GPD2 Mount
      #3091171 - 05/07/09 06:30 PM

Hi,
I bought a 1973 C8 scope. I also have Vixen GPD2 mount. I would like to be able to mount the C8 OTA to the GPD2. I have a chance to buy a dovetail from an old Super Polaris mount. The dovetail was designed to specifically mount a C8 to the Super Polaris mount. I was wondering if anyone knows if 1. This dovetail will connect to the 1973 C8 OTA? and 2. If the C8 does connect, then will the dovetail in turn connect to the GPD2 mount? 3. How much is the dovetail worth used?
Thanks for any help,
Chris

The dovetail that mounted to an SP mount was made to accept a saddle that would be attached to the C8. That saddle is the same as the top of the GPD2. Thus, if you have the saddle to go on the C8 it will be the same as the top of a GPD2 - both are female. There's no way to mate them unless you bolt two dovetail plates together to make a double male.
