Venus thro ETX-70 at dawn
      #3095893 - 05/10/09 10:08 AM

A bathroom pitstop at dawn this morning and I spied Venus low in the east under a beautiful dawn birdsong chorus Later, before breakfast, plopped the ETX-70 on the patio and scanned left of its earlier position and got lucky - Venus came into view - all as videoed here.
Anyone else enjoying the Morning Star currently

Great Vid Nytecam,
I've not attempted to image Venus, however I did notice the recent Lunar occultation. Watching the movements of Venus and Jupiter with the moon has been most interesting lately.
Regards,

Thanks for the video. The birds sound familiar. What video camera did you use?

Hi Herman - it's a regular Fuji E550 digicam in movie-mode shown here but handheld on this occasion for Venus shots
