A naked-eye sketch of last night's moon, done in pastels on black paper. This was the first break in the clouds I've had in weeks!

Tenth
Beautiful sketch! Can you indicate your medium, ie; pastel, Photoshop digital work, format size, etc? This looks as if a blurred photo. It has a very realistic quality, especially in the lighting, almost if viewing a real image out the window.
I'll look forward to reading your details about it. Thanks for posting.
*I wanted to do the largest pastel that I have produced as yet of the near full moon last night with excellent seeing condtiions here in Portland, but too tired to perform; I slept; now clouds and rain are immanent tonight.

Thanks for the comments, The lighting was my primary concern. I wanted to create a realistic silhouetted appearance of the trees against the moonlit sky, and the dazzling contrast of the moon itself.
Well, let's see. I used a set of soft pastel chalks, I don't know the specifics as I lost the packaging. The paper is black Strathmore Artagain 9"x12". I just took a picture and boosted the contrast a bit on the computer.

TE,
An excellent observation of the Full Moon done in pastels. The Moon appears to glow in your rendering. Thank you for sharing it with us all.
