Rich,
I did not realize how favorable the view was at the time of your sketch and observation. The eastern libration zone looks to be at its best. I have been trying to get a good look at crater Neper for a while. It has been cloudy here all weekend after sundown, so no lunar viewing for me. That is one great sketch of Mare Humboltianum and its rings. You really got around the corner.

Beautiful art work! Thanks for alerting us to this amazing lunar terrain, and at the precise times.
I have yet to focus in close on some of these amazing light plays at the terminator. Another one that I have apparently missed, as Frank indicates the crater Neper within Mare Humboltainum. I have much catching up to do with you guys. There is simply so much to see; how could anyone ever tire of looking at the moon, much less sketching its amazing features?

Mark,
Neper is not within the basin, it is much beyond the sketch area to the south along the limb. I think that crater in Rich's sketch way back there on the limb is Belkovich A but I am not certain. Rich is that correct?

Thank you Frank and Mark!
Frank, I was amazed to see Mare Humboltianum so well placed. Saturday afternoon, after consulting the VMA, I waited in anticipation because I had yet to see the Mare. I spent a couple of hours observing it before I started the sketch. Nice to be able to bring back my memories of the event in the form of this sketch.
Mark, I am certain, based upon the quality of your previous work, that your higher magnification views will be beautifully rendered. And you are quite correct, the Moon offers such an endless variety of vistas, there is no way you'll ever tire of sketching or observing it's ever changing face.

Frank and Mark,
I've not been able to determine what the name is for the small crater on the western floor of the Mare. I tried Rukl and Modern Moon but there is no mention of it.

Rich,
An excellent observation of Mare Humboltianum. This is an excellent example of a multi-ring basin on the Moon. Thank you for sharing it with us all.
It is wonderful to see you fine lunar sketches on the forum once again. Please keep them coming.

Thank you Carlos! I was very happy that the Moon's libration favored a sketch of this oft unseen basin.
