Has anyone else received the message "Failed to load driver: ActiveX component can't create object" while trying to interface an ETX with the HNSKY program or WorldWide Telescope through ASCOM using the "Meade Classic" driver? Computer control of the ETX works great with the Cartes du Ciel program.

I'd be curious the hear what you find. I saw this message when I was trying to drive my LXD75 using an ASCOM driver. For me the fix was using a slightly older version of the driver. It's working fine now.

Yes-- as jgraham said-- I remember you needed to revert to an older version of ASCOM-- after uninstalling everything-- and then apply the version 5 on top of the older version--
I Think?????????

Joe and John, your combined input solved the problem. I was Googling the error message, but, not finding the needed information. Joe you sent me to the right place and the ASCOM Yahoo group, as you stated, discussed this exact problem and linked me to the needed drivers. The "fix" is to remove the Meade Classic driver version I installed (5.0.2), install version 5.0.0, then reinstall 5.0.2. John, you stated that an older version of the driver worked for you so after I installed 5.0.0, but, before re-installing 5.0.2 I checked to see if the error message still appeared, it did not! Problem solved so I stopped there.
Thanks,
Frank
