Luis,
let me speak with Markus Ludes at APM Germany, who has used the binoculars and get his opinion on that.

I will get back to you shortly.

With the current specifications Markus would suggest 50x power as a useful benchamrk for achievable performance before any degradation. The quality of the eyepiece will also play a part in that equation and may well allow you to go beyond that figure; we haven't had much chance for detailed testing.

Do keep in mind that these are intended to be powerful wide-field binoculars where the real power comes from the huge aperture on offer.

Ok, Morris.... I understands but 50 X for a 5 inch binocular means 10 X per inch..uhmmm !!! I was waiting at least 20 X per inch !!!!!
Call Markus and ask Him if a minus violet filter may works for boast magnification to 70- 80 X .

Thanks...Morris.

Luis Gtz.

Hello,

My personal benchmark may differ from anybody else, I am very conservative to be on the safe side.

For excample the APM 100 ED I say also stop at 50 times, but most customers go up to 100 power and 1 was even with 150 x happy.

The upper magnification limit is by big percentage a personal benchmark. The colorcorrection is great to handle way more power then a 50 times.

See it that way, this big binocular will handle about the same power as a 150 mm F/5.7 Rich Field Achromat , if you like in such 100 power, then you like it in our binocular as well.

I am coming from super high quality apo side, so please forgive me, if I set my personal max power in such rich field binocular rather low :-)

to answere the question where is it made : In China of course, for such money, it can be nowhere else.

clear skies
Markus Ludes
