EQ-5 for piggyback photography

I'm thinking of getting this scope: http://www.telescope.com/control/product/~category_id=skyw_refr/~pcategory=skywatcherstore/~product_id=08051 in the near future. My plan is to use it mostly for visual work but also for some piggyback work. Starting probably with 50 or 80mm lens, but maybe working my way up to 300mm at some point. Has anyone used this mount for that, how well does it work for short exposures (3-5 minutes).

I would plan to add a computer control to it later, I just don't have the cash to do it all in one go.
