My May 2009 experience with Celestron tech support almost drove me to the insane asylum. It is so convoluted that I needed to organize a web page that will take you through the whole fiasco.

Reading that was like riding a merry go' round, lol. Hopefully all is well with your mount when you get it back.

Frustrating isn't it? Celestron customer service lives up to its reputation again. They've had a CG5 of mine since February, it's non warranty but hey.. they were changing out a motor controller board and a service.
In the meantime, I bought a CGEM.... and received it!! (When will I learn...)

Have you gotten the mount back yet?
My BRAND NEW CGEM is at clestron for repairs. Hopefully my repair will go much smoother. I may start sending them e-mails every couple of days. Maybe they will get tired of me and fix it faster.

CGE mount is back!. Noise problem with worm gear seems to be gone but there is a lot of play in gears. I am waiting for a clear night to run some PEC charts to see if it is back to its expected 15 arc sec error.

And my CG5 should arrive today, finally! 3 months... And I still don't know if it's REALLY fixed. Doug6952, Use the telephone, emails are too easily ignored. Warranty work will be much faster, and when you call them talk them up a bit.

I noticed lots of play in my CGE also after repair service. I just tore it apart, and fixed it myself. The worm gear had 1/8" of end play! I got it adjusted pretty nice.
