Due south!
      #3139144 - 06/01/09 05:50 AM

Early yesterday chanced on my planetarium prog [Cartes du Ciel] and noted Venus due south at 10AM BST and half way up the sky at 45 deg - so set my '70' on the patio [paving slabs aligned north-south ] and set the altitude to 45 deg - behold Venus just off-centre in x15 eyepiece - how lucky was that Here's the video clip

Thanks Joe - did even better this morning using my rescued ETX-70 in equatorially mode [but not driven today!] Tried the Meade MA4mm EP [it came with my purchased '70' ] and I thought it rather poor quality visually but video says otherwise

about what it fetches on astromart I suppose

I just felt it a waste sitting there as my last outing with the ETX was in October 2007 ..too many toys too little time

I just hope the new owner actually uses it
