I bought a computer connection kit for my Meade ETX 80 BB a few months ago and I found out that I cannot connect it my computer. Does anyone have an I idea on how I can get it to work?
Here is a link to the Kit I bought: http://www.opticsplanet.net/meade-astro-finder-kit.html

Elias ,I'm still new to this but could you give more details on why you can't hookup to the computer? Is the computer a laptop or desktop ? No serial port ?

You may have the wrong connector kit. The #506 is intended for DS and ETX telescopes that have the #494 hand controller and I believe it connects to the Aux port on the mount. Meade telescopes fitted with the #497 controller should use the #505 connector kit that connects directly to the hand controller.

I do not have a Serial Port
Then, yes john the 506 connector kit connects to the telescopes second AUX port. And yes my scope has a 494 controller. the big problem is that I have tried on my laptop and on my desktops and none of them have a serial port.
Thanks you guys, Elias

Then you need a USB to Serial adapter cable --- and driver--
