Anyone having trouble with ALT knob slippage?
Seems like the key to no slippage is telescope balance.
Seems to keep from slipping if telescope is more balanced toward the lens.
Sometimes it looks like the telescope is balanced but it still slips. Therefore, I marked the distance on the saddle where it has the best balance for no slippage.
Also seems you have to be extra careful when changing
eyepieces so you do not put too much downward pressure on the eyepiece holder.

I tighten mine with a strap wrench. No more slippage problems.

My ALT slipped at first when the mount was new. I have approximately 30 hours on the mount and the ALT holds well. I hold the scope pointing up and tighten by hand to align. Actually, when I go out I set the scope up and balance for the heavy high power EP and later, rebalance and end the evening with the lower power (lighter) EP. I can rebalance and realign in a few minutes. The mount works really well and is accurate. Regards, Jim
